In 2024, our projects showcased the versatility of our modern craftsmanship, from recreating historical landmarks to designing breathtaking spaces. 1. Bringing History Back to Life at Fort Michilimackinac

One of our proudest moments this year was contributing to the historic Fort Michilimackinac in Michigan. We supplied massive cedar beams and pine logs for the addition of a new building, blending seamlessly with the fort’s original structures.

These beams weren’t just materials—they were a step back in time. Their size, craftsmanship, and authenticity reflected the rugged spirit of the 18th century. By contributing to this project, Homestead Timbers became part of preserving an important piece of Michigan history.

2. Recreating Florida’s First Capitol with Log Siding

When it came to the recreation of Florida’s first-ever Capitol building, Homestead Timbers stepped up with our signature log siding. This historic project demanded quality, and our team delivered.

We provided high-quality hewn Pine Log Siding that authentically matched the era’s original architecture. The hand-hewn textures were meticulously crafted to preserve the building’s legacy while providing modern durability.

3. Crafting Functional Beauty with Barns

Barns are a symbol of rustic utility, and we had the pleasure of contributing to two standout projects this year: an agricultural barn and a horse barn.

• The Agricultural Barn: We focused on functionality and durability, creating a space that could handle the demands of farming life while maintaining a timeless aesthetic. 

• The Horse Barn: This was all about elegance and practicality. The blend of natural wood accents and sturdy construction resulted in a barn as beautiful as it was functional. We had the opportunity to supply pine siding, white oak porch posts for both sides, soffit for the exterior, and wall paneling for the interior.

Homestead Timbers’ expertise in timber construction brought these barns to life, ensuring they would stand strong for years to come.

4. Outdoor Elegance: Pergolas and Timber Frames

Nothing transforms an outdoor space quite like a pergola or timber frame, and 2024 proved just that. One of our featured projects included a custom pergola that created an inviting area for gatherings, complete with natural wood finishes that aged gracefully in the elements.

One of our timber frames was crafted for the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana’s new community center. Adding durability and style to their center, creating a place for the community to come together.

5. Eye-Catching Railing and Spiral Staircases

Our custom railing and spiral staircases are more than structural elements—they are works of art. This year, we crafted stunning railings that added character to homes and businesses alike, taking the client's vision and turning it into their reality.

One of our standout spiral staircase projects brought rustic charm with superior craftsmanship. Whether it was the smooth curves of the staircase or the intricate details of the railings, these pieces were designed to captivate.

6. A Break Room Fit for Luxury: Mercedes-Benz Van Line

Homestead Timbers brought a touch of elegance to the break room at the Mercedes-Benz Van Line facility. This wasn’t just any break room—it was a statement of professionalism. 

From the glamorous kitchen designs to the custom tables we crafted, every element reflected the luxury that Mercedes-Benz represents. The result? A space where employees or clients could relax in a refined, welcoming environment.

7. Special Order of Hemlock CVG Paneling

One of our standout features this year was the introduction of Hemlock CVG (Clear Vertical Grain) paneling milled to Nickel Gap. This versatile material brought sleek, clean lines and a contemporary flair to rustic designs.

Perfect for accent walls or ceilings, the Hemlock CVG paneling offered the best of both worlds: modern appeal with the warmth of natural wood. The Nickel Gap milling ensured a refined, uniform look that enhanced this home’s theme.
