Knotty Pine Paneling

Knotty pine paneling is one of the most beautiful ways to bring a rustic or natural feeling into a room. There is a unique character to knotty pine tongue and groove that many people love. We stock pine paneling unfinished as well as a pre-finished clear coat but we have multiple different color options available for special order. These colors can be viewed here: pre-finished pine paneling. Homestead Timbers strives to provide the best products possible and it is no different for our pine paneling. The wood is top quality and the quality of finish on our pre-finished options is unmatched as they are double coated and UV cured so there is no sticking of the boards during shipping and storage. This helps ensure a smooth texture that looks good even in direct light. Many of our competitors need to store and ship boards with a thin sheet between them so the boards don't get stuck together. While this works well, you will still end up with some pieces that have slight defects in the clear coat and it's up to you to decide if you want to use it or toss it. We offer pine paneling in 1x6 and 1x8 sizes nominal sizes. If you're not familiar with lumber, nominal size is the dimensions before it is planed smooth and milled. The actual size is what you actually get with the final product. Our 1x6 actual size is 3/4" x 5" and our 1x8 actual size is 3/4" x 6-7/8". This matters because knowing the exact stack height will allow us to better determine how much product you need for your project. This accuracy and will allow less waste to be built into determining what you will need to order. To further reduce waste, we greatly recommend going with our end-matched pine paneling as you don't have to split on a stud. With end-matching there is a tongue and groove on the end of the boards, you just need to put a nail through the tongue when you cross a stud. When you get to the edge or corner, cut off the piece and use the cut end to start your next row. With end-matched tongue and groove, you will be amazed at how easy install is and how much material you will save. This will not only allow you to use less material but it will also save you on the labor for install as there is less measuring and cutting needed.
