What a year it has been! When we look back at everything that has taken place, the thing that we can say above everything else is that we have grown. We have grown as a business, as a facility, and as a team, moving forward and learning more about ourselves one day at a time.

Our new showroom opened in the spring and has been a blessing and a half, as it has given us the space and tools to better display and show customers all we can do. With this new space, people now have a destination to not only meet with our wonderful staff of salesman and interior designers, but also to get inspired for projects of their own. We are still tinkering with the layout and the best ways to show everything, but rest assured that we are moving in the right direction.

When it comes to our products, we have introduced several new items and have seen some of our current items flourish. One of the new products that has done exceptionally well for us is our 1x8 Whitewash Nickel Gap, which people have loved for its ease of install and traditional whitewash finish. We have had many customers use it in wall and ceiling applications (check out the beautiful living room and fireplace wall done by one of our customers this summer) and we are excited to see how people use it in 2019. Another product that has blown up for us is our Kebony Radiata Pine, which is the premium decking product we stock at Homestead Timbers. People love its look, its color when new and aged, and how solid it is in construction. It is most commonly used on decks, but we are seeing it used on stairways, furniture projects, and wall installs (peep the wall install done by our customer at Berean Baptist Church in Portage, MI). It is extremely versatile and we are excited to continue educating people about it.

In addition to our amazing products, we are proud to say that we have taken part in some incredible projects, whether they be installs, remodels, or new builds. Our pride and joy of 2018 has been our modern farmhouse in Grand Rapids. It features a 3 BR/2.5 BATH open floor plan chalk full of several products we offer (including Premium Pine Nickel Gap, Reclaimed Barn Beams, and more), a beautiful wrap around porch with western red cedar box beams and ceiling, a full unfinished basement, and a detached 2-car garage. We were involved in every step of the process from pouring the foundation to designing to framing to finishing, so it is a very special project to us. We are trying to get everything finished up in early/mid December and are excited to turn this house into a home.

2019 is looking to be off to a great start as well and we plan to continue offering the same great products and services moving forward. We are excited to see what the new year brings and look forward to helping all of our customers with everything we can. Thanks for continuing to support us and we will see you in 2019!!!
